Where we build fitness that fits your real life

Meet your coach

ou’re busy. You’re strong. And you’re tired of fitness being complicated.
I help women and everyday athletes rebuild strength that actually works for real life—whether that means chasing your kids, hiking the hills, finishing a 5K, or finally feeling confident in your own skin again.
No fads. No guilt. No burnout.
Just smart coaching, sustainable structure, and results that last beyond a season.

Ellyse Abernathy

Postpartum & Strength Coach | Everyday Athlete Founder
From teen athlete to adventure junkie to strength coach, I’ve spent years learning what real fitness requires—grit, grace, and a plan that fits your life.
I’ve climbed rock faces, backpacked trails, and trained through four pregnancies. I know what it means to rebuild your body, your energy, and your confidence from the ground up.
Now I help moms, athletes, and busy professionals do the same—through training that builds power, stability, and the kind of strength that carries into every part of life.

Meet the Fam

Otherwise known as the Certified Feral Boy Crew.
We’re a homeschool family, so you’ll see these boys pop up in my content — usually turning everything into a competition. They’re loud, proud, and might still beat you in a pull-up contest. 😉

Credentials That Matter

Hi, I’m Ellyse — and I help busy women rebuild from the inside out through strength and conditioning that fits real life.

I work with moms, former athletes, and women juggling more than their fair share — helping them regain strength, energy, and resilience that carries into every part of life.

I’m a CERTIFIED & QUALIFIED personal trainer in Cornelia, GA—certified through the leading experts in the industry.

I’ve pursued advanced education designed to help real people heal—not just pass a test (ahem nasm).

Many of the certifications I’ve completed were originally created for physical therapists and provide continuing education units (CEUs) for licensed providers.

That means the material is clinical-grade, deep, and far beyond what most trainers receive.

  • ShowUp Fitness Certified Coach – Involved weekly live instruction, case-based programming, and hands-on learning—well beyond a weekend cert.
  • Nutrition by Mel Mentorship (via ShowUp) – 2 months of intensive nutrition education from a registered dietitian and athlete tailored for real life, not restrictive plans.
  • ICE Postpartum Athlete Certified – Specialized in working with postpartum bodies to support healing, return to strength, and rebuild safely.
  • ICE Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete (Level 1) – Focused on movement assessment, strength programming, and functional rehab strategies from a performance-first lens.
  • Academy of Pelvic Health: Diastasis Recti Done Differently – Advanced course for assessing and supporting core healing and abdominal separation; originally created for physical therapists and CEU-eligible.

What That Means for You

Most trainers stop at the basics. I didn’t.

I’ve trained under experts, studied clinical-level strategies, and continue attending industry seminars to stay sharp. If I were a practicing PT, many of these courses would count as CEUs.

My experience is with athletes and general population. I’ve trained pregnant woman, brand new moms, weekend athletes, corporate executives and basketball referees. All of whom, were navigating rehabbing injuries or limitations of some kind.

How I Coach Differently

Most in-person trainers scroll their phones while you work, and many online coaches hand you a spreadsheet with a “let me know if you have questions.”
That’s not me.

I’m with you in the trenches—on the mat, in your corner, or in your pocket—encouraging, teaching, and guiding you through every phase of this process.

The right image (June 2025) shows a fuller, more relaxed core and hips, indicating improved nourishment and strength. Both photos reflect physical progress, but the second image represents deeper recovery and sustainable health.
